Surf Wear

Surf wear is divided into two categories. There are the things you wear while you surf- swim suits. And then there’s the larger sphere of surfing themed clothing. Actually surfing items are fairly straightforward. You have the large baggy swim trunks; or tight fitting suits for both men and women.

When you start talking about the larger realm of surf wear is where the variation really comes into play. There are several clothing manufacturers with major market shares that all offer surfing oriented clothing lines. Brands like Rip Curl and Quicksilver sell little else but surf wear.

The broad appeal of surf wear isn’t difficult to comprehend. The average American wants to be able to relax, and surfers are seen as among the most relaxed and low key individuals around. So people identify the look with the attitude, and voila, everyone wants to wear surf clothing. The marketing practically does itself for these items.
